Blog Set Up

My experience with technology in the past has been fairly above average. My high school was very technology driven, we were all given Ipads instead of textbooks so I know how to work these products well. Because I was given an ipad in high school I believe I rely on technology more than others because that is how I am use to going through school. From a young age I has always loved technology and was quick to understand on how it worked.  I also have been working on programs like word, power point and excel since middle school and understand almost all they have to offer.

What I hope to gain from this class is a better understanding on how technology can and does improve the teaching world. Since I have grown up with technology in the classroom I have seen the benefits it brings to the students and teachers and would like for it to do the same within my classroom. With the help of this class I hope to sharpen the skills I  have and learn new things. This class will help open my eyes to use technology in different ways and improve my technology abilities in my classroom.

(1) ILP “Twitter Chat ”

For my individual learning project I chose to participate in a educational twitter chat. Because of my newly found interest of Twitter from our assigned Twitter account I have learned to really like this application. I really liked participating in a twitter chat, because this application is so new to me this was my first time doing so. I find it extremely interesting that I was able to chat with so many people who are all different places in real time. In this chat I discussed the benefits of social learning. Social learning is learning that is done through example, or imitation. I believe that this type of learning style is extremely helpful, especially for me. Growing up I also needed extra help but once I was shown how to do it I could understand. This is a huge benefit in the classroom to have other students help other students.  This type of learning is suppose to be best for students because this allows them to recreate the action into their memories.
