I think the most useful Web 2.0 technologies would be both Youtube and TedTalks. Both these applications are used for sharing videos and when doing this it is easy to rely information to each other.  This makes things easier when trying to teach a class because it can shed a new light on what you are learning. Watching a video allows students to visualize what the teacher is teaching in class allowing them to get another view of that information. Throughout high school my teachers would show TedTalks to help explain things to us that were hard to teach or hard to explain. I found these super helpful as a student and plan on using them in the future. TedTalks and Youtube like I mentioned above are two of the technologies I plan on using the most when I become a teacher in the classroom. This is because when teaching younger students I found that this has been the most resourceful and allows them to actually see what we have been talking about in class. I think these tools would b...

Since this is my first time using Twitter it did take me a while to get use too. I had to learn all of the different tools twitter offered to be able to use these social media to my full ability. After getting into the swing of things I could see how this would be able to help me in my near future. It allowed me to connect with teachers from around the country and communicate with them on how they feel technology in important in the classroom. This was important because I could ask questions to other teachers and by doing this I was able to learn new and unique ways of teaching I would have never thought of it. I like the idea of sharing ideas to benefit all of our students. The digital divide is a major problem amongst our school and our students. Not every school has the means to provide technology to their students hindering their ability to grow as the students who do have access to these tools. This automatic puts them at a disadvantage at no fault of their own. As a future edu...

One of the ELA standards I feel prepared the most to teach would be the use of texts featured in popular media. Starting out as a young teacher I feel like this would be easiest for me for two main reasons. First because my use of technology will be up to date and I will be able to keep up with the young students in my classroom. Keeping up with the growth of technology will benefit me and my students when it comes time to use the technology in the classroom. The second reason is because I will be right out of college I will still be updated on the social trends that are influencing my students. These texts can be found anywhere from images on Facebook, videos on twitter or even an articles found on a blog. The use of popular media in the classroom I feel sometime goes unnoticed. I think a major thing about using popular media is that ability to connect with your class on social level. With that connection I feel like students are able to see how things they do in their everyday lives ...

As a student I have used Microsoft Word since I can remember. In elementary school we had a computer class to learn and practice these skills using word, powerpoint and excel. In this class we would work on objectives like using the different fonts or how to set up a certain style of research paper. This class has benefited more than I would have thought. Looking back that computer class may have seem pointless at the time but did teach me real life skills that I still use today. As for my teachers I think they used Word more than I did. All of my assignments, quizzes, project outlines and rubrics were all manufactured using Word. This gave my teachers easy access to change what they wanted and the ability to save their work for following years. I have had a lot of experience with Copyright. Since the internet has been a huge part of my school career my teachers have taught a lot about it. As a young student each year we have an assigned class where we would review the rules of plagia...

Technology in the classroom has come a long way in the last few decades. With this new influx of technology into our society it would only make sense that technology would soon make its way into the teaching world as well. Technology plays a massive role an influencing a teacher on what he or she teaches. It is now not only acceptable to prepare students for the 3R's, these students will need to be technological literate as well. Technology in the classroom not only encourages the 21st century way of teaching but supports it as well. Teachers have to ensure a place for their students in society and teaching them with technology is a huge step. One of the ISTE standards that is most meaningful to me is creativity and innovative because growing up learning did not come easy to me so I always had to be creative in the ways I taught myself the assigned material. In my classroom I know I will come up with new and innovative ways to help teach my students especially with all the new tech...

My experience with technology in the past has been fairly above average. My high school was very technology driven, we were all given Ipads instead of textbooks so I know how to work these products well. Because I was given an ipad in high school I believe I rely on technology more than others because that is how I am use to going through school. From a young age I has always loved technology and was quick to understand on how it worked.  I also have been working on programs like word, power point and excel since middle school and understand almost all they have to offer. What I hope to gain from this class is a better understanding on how technology can and does improve the teaching world. Since I have grown up with technology in the classroom I have seen the benefits it brings to the students and teachers and would like for it to do the same within my classroom. With the help of this class I hope to sharpen the skills I  have and learn new things. This class will help open...
